School of Women and Children's Health

Research

With our significant involvement with postgraduate courses, naturally research is a high priority. Every member of the academic staff is physically based in a clinical setting. This has created numerous opportunities for both laboratory-based and clinical research to be undertaken.

The School has established its excellence in teaching and promoting education and public health issues in the area of women’s and children’s health. It is actively supporting a wide variety of research activities in the clinical sphere as well as laboratory-based basic research. The latter has been enhanced by the opening in March 2001 of the Sydney Children’s Hospital Research Facility, with state-of-the-art laboratory space.

For information about Research Programs, see the Postgraduate Research Programs page on the Faculty of Medicine website.
